Death of a candidate for direct election
If a constituency candidate dies after approval of the constituency nomination but before election, a deferred election must be held. The deferred election may take place on the day of the general election but no later than six weeks after the general election.
The date of the deferred election shall be determined by the Land returning officer.
There are no constituency candidates in European elections.
