Residential move

A person entitled to vote has to be entered in a voters’ register to be allowed to vote. The date for entering all persons eligible to vote in the register of voters ex officio is the 42nd day before election.

  1. Residential move and change of residence notification up to, and including, prior to the 42nd day before election

Persons eligible to vote shall be entered ex officio into the voters’ register of the new place of residence. The right to vote is exercised at the new place of residence.

  1. Residential move and change of residence notification from the 41st to the 21st day before election

Persons eligible to vote shall be entered into the voters’ register of the new place of residence upon application only. If persons moving house do not file an application, they shall remain in the voters’ register of their former place of residence and exercise their right to vote at their former place of residence, either at the ballot box or by postal ballot.

  1. Residential move and registration after the 21st day before election

Persons moving house shall remain in the voters’ register of their former place of residence and exercise their right to vote there, either at the ballot box or by postal ballot.
