2024 European election: Federal Electoral Committee to decide on complaints on 18 April 2024
WIESBADEN – At its second meeting in preparation for the European election, the Federal Electoral Committee will decide on the complaints lodged against the full or partial rejection of the lists of candidates submitted by seven political associations.
The Federal Returning Officer reports that the meeting will be held in public in the Marie-Elisabeth Lüders Building of the German Bundestag in Berlin (entrance Adele-Schreiber-Krieger-Straße 1), Room 3.101 on Thursday, 18 April 2024, at 11 a.m.
All those concerned who attend the meeting will be heard. Following the meeting, the Federal Returning Officer will announce the decision of the Federal Electoral Committee.
Important information:
All media representatives will require valid accreditation to enter the Bundestag buildings.
All other visitors will be required to pass through security screening before entering the Bundestag buildings and present a valid form of identification. It is advisable to register at besucher@bundeswahlleiter.de by Tuesday, 16 April 2024, 6 p.m., providing your surname, first name and date of birth. The police at the German Bundestag will run a background check on visitors granted access to the premises of the German Bundestag, particularly by checking the visitors’ data against the information database of the Bundestag police and the Police Information System (INPOL). This is based on section 2 subsection 6c of the Internal Regulations of the German Bundestag. All personal data (surname, first name and date of birth) provided during the registration process will be deleted or destroyed after the visit. Please bring your valid identity card or passport for admission control.
Those who have not registered in advance but wish to attend the meeting of the Federal Electoral Committee may come directly to the entrance of the Marie-Elisabeth Lüders Building (Berlin, Adele-Schreiber-Krieger-Straße). These visitors are advised to expect wait times, however, due to the necessary background check.
The meeting will be broadcast live on the internet at www.bundestag.de. It will be available subsequently in the Bundestag media library at www.bundestag.de/mediathek.
