Candidates
In the European Election 2014, a total of 1,053 candidates stood for the 96 seats in the European Parliament allocated to the Federal Republic of Germany. The total includes 327 women.
Parties admitted
25 parties and other political associations with lists for individual Länder or joint lists for all Länder were admitted to the European Election to be held on 25 May 2014 by the Federal Electoral Committee in its public session on 14 March 2014.
